Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at 07:30 AM. The desert tour from Fes to Marrakech with your private driver/guide entails a long drive as we recommend arriving to the Sahara Desert before the sunset, so starting early from Fes is highly recommended. We will include a short break in the beautiful city of Ifrane, which is often called the Switzerland version city of Morocco to the extent that it was selected the second cleanest city in the world in 2015.

We will also stop by the UNESCO preserved cedar forest, which hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques. After having lunch in Midelt, famous for growing apples, we will continue on the track to Merzouga crossing the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains, then the Ziz Gorge, the palm valley of Ziz before reaching the city of Erfoud. Erfoud is known for fossil factories and dates.

Upon arrival, you will go for the camel experience enjoying the breathtaking view of the sunset before arriving to our luxury desert camp. Have a delicious meal for dinner and have a nice sleep in your private en-suite tent.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert - Erfoud - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Early wake up in the morning, climb the sand dune to enjoy the miraculous views of the sunrise, then have a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight before resuming our journey further west to the lush valley of Dades. Stretch your legs in the impressive Todra Gorge (Canyon), which keeps attracting mountain climbers and nature seekers from all over the world.

Day 3: Dades Valley - Ait Benhaddou - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will drive to Marrakech through the Valley of Roses where you can learn about the production of the Roses including rose water, lotions, soaps and much more. Cross the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) thanks to the Atlas Film Studios that have turned the region into a famous backdrop for film production such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia and many others.

We will have a guided walking tour of the dramatic Kser Ait Benhaddou, which is a UNESCO listed site since 1987. Its strategic location being the former caravan route that used to connect Marrakech with the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara. After lunch, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) offering breathtaking views. We will reach Marrakech in the late afternoon…
