Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High-Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Valley

Today, your private driver/guide will take you for a journey of a lifetime experience to the desert of Merzouga. We will pick you up from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at 07:30 am, then have an interesting drive through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains with its snow-capped in the winter. The mountains offer senic views offering great options for taking nice shots, especially when you spot the “Berber” Amazigh villages that are scattered alongside the river and built-in adobe and stones.

We will cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) before arriving to the dramatic Ait Benhaddou village, which is listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It consists of numerous Kasbahs (fortresses) that examplify the striking architecture of the south with its high-walls, small windows, four towers and small doors.

After lunch, we will continue on the track to the Dades Valley while driving through the Valley of the Roses.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After having breakfast, we will resume our adventurous journey further southeast while visiting the palm valley of Todra with its impressive gorges (canyons). You will have time to stretch your legs while enjoying the magnificent views. Then, drive through Erfoud, which is known for fossil factories and dates before reaching the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

It is time to experience the camel ride in the desert while enjoying the sunset view with the possibility to include the sandboarding. You will return to our luxury desert camp where you will appreciate the “Berber” hospitality. Have a delicious meal for dinner in our tented restaurant or under the stars followed by a time for entertainment before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your private tent or under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Alnif - Nkob - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Early wake in the morning, you are invited to attend the miraculous view of the sunrise atop the golden sand dunes. After having breakfast, we will have a long drive back to Marrakech through through Alnif, Nkob and Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). We will incude many short breaks for your to chill out and take pictures before arriving to Marrakech in the evening.

The desert trip is not suitable for pregnant & wheelchair users
Please note the road can be blocked during the winter due to the snowfall or heavy rains, as a result, taking another route through Agadir is the main alternative. We highly recommend not to book the desert trip if your flight is scheduled for the next day.
Please note we will drop you off in your hotel but if it happens you are staying in a Riad within the walls of the Medina that is inaccessible to the car, we will liaise with your Riad staff members to escort you so that you can avoid the hassle.
