Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at 07:30 AM. We will head south to the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi crossing the lush Middle-Atlas Mountains known for its varied flora and fauna including the UNESCO listed cedar forest. We will stop by the charming city of Ifrane, which was listed as the second cleanest city in the world in 2015.
We will then meet the Barbary Macaques that reside the forest before continuing on the track to Midelt where we will have lunch. Cross the High-Atlas Mountains offering impressive views, then take nice shots by the palm valley of Ziz before arriving to Merzouga desert in the evening.
A warm welcome by the hotel/Riad staff members with tea and pastries as a traditional Moroccan ritual. Have a meal for dinner under the stars or inside the restaurant before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your en-suite room by the edge of the golden sand dune field.

Day 2: Explore the Desert Area & Camel Trek
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will spend most of the day exploring the desert area starting with an insight into the local “Khettaras”, which is a traditional system of irrigation. This system consists of conveying water from afar to the oasis by digging wells that are interconnected by an underground channel.
We will drive through Merzouga Village before getting to Khamlia, which is resided by black Africans who were brought as slaves. Nowadays, their hospitality has no limits and are known for the “Gnawa Music”, which they perform to guest-visitors.
We will then have a complete tour around the sand dune field of Erg Chebbi offering magnificent views. Visit nomad family by sharing a minte with them while learning about their unique lifestyle. After lunch, we will drive back to our Riad/Kasbah by the edge of the sand dunes where you will have a camel ride experience while enjoying the panoramic view of the sunset.
After arriving to our luxury desert camp, you will have a delicious meal for dinner under the stars or in our tented restaurant. Enjoy the music performed by the nomad guys before have a relaxing sleep in your en-suite tent.

Day 3: Merzouga - Erfoud - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley
Early wake up in the morning, we will invite you to climb the dune up to enjoy the miraculous view of the sunrise. After having breakfast and taking a refreshing shower, we will resume our 6 days desert trip from Fes to Marrakech to the Dades Valley. We will drive through Erfoud, which is famous for fossils and dates.
We will stretch our legs in the impressive Todra Gorge, which is a high-cliff that has been an attraction to mountain climbers, trekkers and nature seekers. After lunch, we will continue on the track to the lush Dades Valley where we will spend our third night.

Day 4: Dades Valley - Ait Boutghrar - Skoura - Ouarzazate
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will visit a nomad family that still live in a cave near the dramatic Ait Boutghrar Village. Stop by the Valley of the Roses where you can learn about the local produce like rose water, soaps, lotions and much more.
We will then visit the impressive Amridil Kasbah that goes back to the 17th century providing a striking example of the southern architecture. Spend the fourth night in Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa).

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Telouet - Marrakech
Today, we will resume our journey to Marrakech; however, we can’t move on without exploring the best attractions including the Taorirt Kasbah, which is located in the heart of Ouarzazate. We may want to include a visit to the Atlas Film Studios where many Hollywood Movies such as Gladiator, Cleopatra, Kingdom of Heaven, Sahara and much more were filmed.
We will have a guided walking tour around the UNESCO listed and dramatic Kser of Ait Benhaddou. It consist of many Kasbahs (fortresses) with its high walls, four towers, small windows and doors. It played a major role as an important commercial center in the former caravan route that connected Marrakech and High-Atlas Mountains with the Sahara.
After lunch, we will drive through the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) offering panoramic views with its Beber Villages and unique lifestyle. We will arrive to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Full-Day Guided Tour of Marrakech
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will spend the day exploring Marrakech with a local tour guide whose fruitful knowledge about the Ochre City is unlimited. We will initially drive through the Ville Nouvelle to the Majorelle Gardens that are owned by Saint Laurent offering a unique experience in the botanical gardens.
Learn about the history of the Koutoubia Mosque, which goes back to the 12th century and is shrouded in mystery. We will then visit the Saadian Tombs with its unique architecture consisting of geometric designs, stucco-work and Zellij tiles. Meander around the intricate alleyways leading us to the Bahia Palace.
We will then explore the vibrant Souks (market) of Marrakech, which is organized into sections based on the specialty. We will the end our guided tour of Marrakech in the Jemaa El-Fna Square (focal point of Marrakech) that turns into a carnival filled with musicians, story-tellers, snake-charmers, acrobats, magicians along with the food stalls selling Moroccan food.

- Please note the road can be blocked during the winter due to the snowfall or heavy rains, as a result, taking another route through Agadir is the main alternative. We highly recommend not to book the desert trip if your flight is scheduled for the next day.
