Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, your private driver/guide will pick you up at 07:30 AM. We will drive through the lush Middle-Atlas stopping by the charming town of Ifrane, which is often called the Switzerland version city of Morocco. Have another break in the UNESCO-listed cedar forest with its endangered Barbary Macaques that you can approach and even feed.

After having lunch in either Zaida or Midelt, we will cross the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains with their snow-capped peaks offering stunning views for taking memorable shots. Enjoy the views of the Ziz Valley before arriving in the Merzouga desert through Erfoud.

A warm welcome by the staff members at Riad/hotel, which is located by the feet of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We invite you to have a camel ride experience while enjoying the sunset view before getting to our luxury desert camp. Have a delicious meal for dinner under the stars or inside the restaurant, then culminate the day with a nice sleep in your en-suite tent.

Day 2: Explore the Desert Area - Ziz Valley - Midelt

Early wake up in the morning, climb the sand dune to enjoy the miraculous views of the sunrise, then have a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight before getting ready for our today’s adventure. We will explore the desert area starting with an insight into the traditional system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”. This sophisticated system is based on conveying water from afar to the oasis of Merzouga by digging wells and interconnecting them with an underground channel.

We will cross the village of Merzouga to Khamila where we will have a time for entertainment with the spiritual “Gnawa Music” performed by local inhabitants of the village who were brought as slaves from the Sub-Saharan Lands. Take nice pictures of the majestic sand dunes of Erg Chebbi before heading north to Midelt through the city of Erfoud, which is known for its fossil factories and dates.

Day 3: Midelt - Ifrane - Fes

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will resume journey heading to Fes through the lush cedar forest, then stretching our legs in the city of Ifrane before arriving to Fes in the late afternoon.
